Warwick Castle Britains Best Day Out
Warwick Castle was recently voted the UK’s best day out, beating the likes of Harry Potter Studio Tour, Alton Towers and Thorpe Park. The castle, built by William the Conqueror, has plenty of history, and the story is told through videos, live acting performances and the friendly staff.
There are some downsides though, you’re not allowed to roam around the castle, there’s just a few areas you’re allowed to visit, while food can be expensive and the weather needs to be good on the day. The most enjoyable aspects are outside, like the bird show, the joisting tournaments and other displays.
It can be sad to think that this historic castle is just another amusement park, but that’s not to say you can’t appreciate the history because you can. It’s just that the day feels like a standard family day out, and not something that will live very long in the memory, unless you’re very young.
